Gracewell Healthcare is on track to open six new premium care homes this year, taking the company’s total to 21 by the end of 2016.
The operator’s latest project is in Newbury, Berkshire, where a 65-bed care, dementia and nursing home will open at the end of the year.
A show suite for the home opens to the public on 29 March 29.
Gracewell says that the Newbury home will combine the facilities and services of a high quality care home, with the design and feel of a boutique hotel.
The home will be designed with a Hollywood movie theme, with each room individually decorated with a nod to a film star from Tinseltown’s golden age such as Cary Grant and Marilyn Monroe.
“Whilst the décor of the rooms helps to make residents feel genuinely at home, every aspect of their design has been considered and chosen to provide safety and security to residents. These include specially selected carpets and wallpaper for those residents living with dementia and other forms of memory loss,” the company says.
