Gold Care Homes takes over former Sanctuary Care services

Gold Care Homes has taken over two care homes formerly run by Sanctuary Care in Westminster.

The transfer of Carlton Dene Residential Care Home in Kilburn Road (pictured) and Westmead Residential Care Home in Tavistock Road follows the termination of Westminster Council’s contracts with Sanctuary Care after its Garside Nursing Home was rated ‘Inadequate’.

Gold Care Homes, CEO, Ravi Gidar, said: “We were approached by Westminster County Council directly, and we are honoured to be considered to take on these two additions into the Gold Care family. Our teams have been working hard to ensure that we will improve the quality of care provided in these homes to enhance the residents’ experience – bringing them joy, happiness and fulfilment.”

Carlton Dene and Westmead are rated ‘Good’ by the CQC. Their acquisition brings Gold Care Homes’ portfolio’s to 23 care homes and adds another 84 beds to the provider’s current more than 1,200 beds.

Gold Care Homes said staff at the homes had completed Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) (TUPEs) over the last few weeks.
