From today, #GladtoCare Awareness Week will be celebrating resilient care workers, following what has undeniably been a trying period for the industry.
Organised by Person Centred Software, picpr and Autumna, this year’s event features an exciting calendar of activities for participating care homes, including dance and fitness sessions with influencers Kimberly Wyatt and Tally Rye.
Jonathan Papworth, co-founder of Person Centred Software, said: “The response to the inaugural #GladtoCare Awareness Week was fantastic and saw hundreds of care providers across the UK get involved at the height of the pandemic. One year on, and with COVID-19 still very much impacting the sector, we were keen for the event to return – and to be even bigger and better than last year. We’re delighted to have Tally Rye and Kimberly Wyatt on board, supporting the cause and leading engaging fitness sessions for participating homes.
“We hope that as many care providers and care workers will get involved as possible to shine a light on all of the incredible work that’s been done, and continues to be done, within the industry, much of which often goes unnoticed and underappreciated.”
Kimberly Wyatt, a former member of girl band, The Pussycat Dolls, will be kicking off the week at 11.30am this morning with an exciting dance session designed to get residents moving.
Closing the week of activities, fitness influencer Tally Rye will be hosting an exciting workout session for residents to mark ‘Feel Good Friday’. In another 30-minute session, the personal trainer, fitness instructor and author will lead participants through a series of chair-based exercises designed to aid mobility.
Care providers and care workers are encouraged to register their participation in the campaign by visiting www.gladtocare.com. Here, they will receive a free #GladtoCare digital toolkit, including decorative bunting, display posters, social media frames, and a bespoke activity calendar full of ideas for getting its residents involved.
