Gainsborough focuses on specialist baths

Gainsborough Baths has announced that it is no longer part of the Care in Bathing Group, Europe’s largest provider of bathing installations to the elderly and infirm. It is now a separate enterprise focused solely on specialist baths.

The move is part of the company’s restructure which is designed to develop the three brands it operates and to improve customer experience.

Gainsborough has also relocated its office-based operations to new premises in Redditch in an effort to “enhance service levels and provide scope for future development”.

With the consumer Premier Care brand now under new ownership, the original founders and owners, Gordon and Malcolm Farmiloe are responsible for leadership of Gainsborough Baths.

The entrepreneurs are hoping to grow the business while maintaining their established manufacturing facility in Aldridge, West Midlands.

The company says relocating to new headquarters symbolises a “step change” in the company’s capabilities and is designed to deliver greater operational efficiencies to its nationwide team of installers and technicians.

A state-of-the-art demonstration room is currently under construction at these premises so healthcare professionals have access to products for educational purposes.

“This next phase within our business strategy is based on a customer-centric approach,” Malcolm commented.

“We believe that by being more focused on specialist solutions our baths will offer better care that is both sustainable and future-proofed. As a family-run UK manufacturer, we will continue to supply cutting-edge products and exceptional service underpinned by a caring and ethical ethos. Our vision for innovation is now more pronounced than ever before.”

Gainsborough supplies power-assisted and height-adjustable baths that deliver safe accessibility for disabled bathers and their carers. Through considered ergonomics and functionality, moving and handling risks are minimised, and carers operate at safe working heights.
