Fisher Partnership flagship uses Kandean Designflooring luxury vinyl floors

Whitby Court 01

The Fisher Partnership, which operates four homes for up to 100 residents across North Yorkshire, has called in Karndean Designflooring to add specialist floors to its its purpose built care home at Whitby Court.

Whitby Court is described as the town’s first purpose-built ecological care home and aims to provide person-centred care in a tranquil environment.

The operator has given its home a nautical-beach theme using Karndean Designflooring, but its technical performance is as important as its design, with the floor having to work with underfloor heating throughout the new build project.

At the heart of the home is an indoor beach that uses  luxury vinyl flooring to create contrasting designs that appear like wood alongside a pebble effect.

The Karndean Designflooring produts include Da Vinci Kenyan Tigerwood, against the pebble effect of Michelangelo Navarra Chalk; a dedicated train room uses Knight Tile Caribbean Driftwood, and a hair salon uses Knight Tile White Painted Oak.

Alongside Da Vinci Spirito Limestone in a purpose built kitchen area, Knight Tile Pale Limed Oak in adjoining walkways and Knight Tile White Painted Oak in various bedrooms.

“We were always looking to create an engaging and interesting space for residents,” said Jenny Fisher, business estate manager, at The Fisher Partnership.

“As well as being hard wearing and easy to maintain, our flooring choice needed to offer the wow factor. Immediately impressed with the project portfolio, we selected natural wood effect flooring to complete our look against distinctive concrete designs. We’ve had some amazing feedback from residents and visitors alike, and we wouldn’t hesitate to specify Karndean in the future. It is by far the best representation of real wood and stone on the market,” she added.
