The first flexible worker has joined Ideal Carehomes following its launch of its coronavirus recruitment campaign.
Tanya Pearse (pictured right with home manager Paul Rowson), aged 33, has worked as a hotel manager for almost 16 years but was made temporarily unemployed as a result of her place of work closing due to the coronavirus.
Tanya, who applied for the role at Ashworth Grange in Dewbsury after seeing an advert on Facebook, said: “The turnaround from applying for the role to starting my first shift was impressively quick. Before I knew it, I was serving cups of tea and biscuits to the residents.
“It is in my nature to want to help, after seeing the great work all the frontline key workers were doing, I knew this was my opportunity to pitch in and do my bit. The team at Ashworth Grange do such a fantastic job and the role is incredibly rewarding, I would recommend anyone considering applying to go for it!”
Sarah Colling, Head of Development and Engagement at Ideal Carehomes, who is the driving force behind the ‘Ideal Academy’ and flexible workers initiative, said: “As communities throughout the UK continue to suffer the effects of the coronavirus, members of the community such as Tanya are able to utilise their wealth of experience and talents to assist our care teams in providing high quality care to our residents.”
