First COVID vaccination a ‘big relief’ for Kettering care home

Residents at Wicksteed Court care home in Kettering have received their first COVID-19 vaccination.

The jabs came as a big relief for the care team and relatives at the home in Northamptonshire where staff are hopeful they can also be vaccinated soon.

Ritu Mehra, Registered Manager, said: “Our care team have worked really hard over the past few months to keep the home COVID-19 free. Knowing that our residents have had their first jab of the vaccine is a step in the right direction to ensuring our residents are safe and well.

“Everyone at Wicksteed Court Care Home would like to thank Weavers Medical Centre, Kettering, for organising the logistics for the vaccine and their support. We’d also like to thank Adrian, Sophia and Steven – the paramedics who visited the home to give the vaccinations to our residents. The paramedics were fantastic with our residents!

“We hope that 2021 will continue to bring positive news and that the vaccine can be administered to everyone as soon as possible.”

Wicksteed Court is a residential care home for up to 25 people, including those living with dementia.
