Combi steamer manufacturer Rational has revealed its smallest ever combi steamer.
The SelfCookingCenter XS, which was unveiled at Twickenham Stadium yesterday, is targeted at the cafe, hospitality and convenience market, where space to prepare food is at a premium.
Gotz Sauer, executive vice president of Rational (pictured left with CEO Peter Stadelmann), told Care Home Professional: “With the XS we are entering a new product range which will occupy a class of its own within the market. Our aim is to provide quick service and casual dining.
“This is a real step forward for us. The SelfCookingCenter XS is the first and only unit on the market of this size with full cooking performance and all the other benefits of our bigger product range.”
The IS comes with the standard Rational features, including iCookingControl intelligent cooking and EfficientCareControl automatic cleaning and descaling.
It was launched as part of the new generation of simpler and more efficient large and small SelfCookingCenters designed to produce faster and better cooked food.
Fifty per cent faster and more efficient than its predecessors, the range features a new contemporary design with energy saving LED lighting, a unique airflow system which cooks foods uniformly and with more intensity for better cooking results, and a visual loading system that indicates when foods needed to be loaded and unloaded.
