South coast provider Luxury Care has received its second ‘outstanding’ rating within a month from the CQC.
Aranlaw House in Poole, which specialises caring for people living with dementia and other mental health issues, received four out of five outstandings from inspectors.
Kevin Gunputh, managing director of Luxury Care, told Care Home Professional: “It’s taken years and years of work to get two outstandings. It’s the pinnacle of our career. Getting outstanding is one thing but now we have to maintain it.”
Half of Luxury Care’s four homes are now rated outstanding by the CQC with its Regency Manor having achieved the top rating last month (see EXCLUSIVE: Dorset care home celebrates outstanding rating).
Kevin added: “All our homes benefit from the same training and the same support from our director of care services Mandy Kittlety and myself.”
Kevin said Aranlaw’s outstanding was particularly satisfying given the complex needs of residents.
“We had the right inspector who has a mental health background,” Kevin told us.
“She could see things that we were doing. We weren’t expecting to an overall outstanding; we were confident we would maybe get one in one area.”
Care Home Professional was on hand to see the home celebrate its outstanding in style with a full scale wedding ceremony designed to bring back fond memories for residents (see picture).
