Stunning photographs of the interior of Prestwick Care’s new care home in the Newcastle suburb of Gosforth have been released.
The pictures show the level of interior design that the group has promised as it launches the first Platinum Range property in its 11-home portfolio.
Prestwick Care is the care home division of property conglomerate Malhotra Group Plc, which invested £6.5 million in the project.
The Platinum Range home, Melton House, was developed on the site of an old council records office in Gosforth.
Melton House will offer accommodation with and without nursing to up to 67 residents. Each will have their own luxurious en-suite room and access to services such as TV lounges, dining rooms, activity and games rooms, a cinema room and a hair salon.
The home also has a rooftop garden overlooking the neighbouring Newcastle racecourse.
Bunty Malhotra, CEO of the Malhotra Group and director of the group’s care division Prestwick Care Group, said: “I’m delighted to be able to complete our 11th home in the Prestwick family and it’s the first of a platinum range of homes in terms of care and quality of accommodation and facilities.
“I would like to think this is one of the best homes in the North of England.
“My joy has been doubled in that by opening this facility we were able to save 50 jobs resulting from the closure of a nearby home and most importantly we will be able to provide continuity of care for elderly and vulnerable people from that home which is critical for their welfare.”
