A Hull care home has received its second Outstanding rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), after a late 2019 inspection.
Magdalen Park Care Home, opened in 2014, boasts a traditional ‘high street’, including a hairdressing salon, a café and shop, and even a licensed pub for residents to use.
Also onsite are a cinema, rooftop garden, bowling green, balconies, greenhouses and vegetable patches.
The home provides residence and care for people, including those with dementia, and can support up to 70 individuals.
The CQC’s inspection stated: “We received overwhelmingly positive feedback about the leadership of service, which centred around the experience of people.
“The provider continued to promote a culture of truly exceptional person-centred care and enabled staff to support people to achieve outcomes that far exceeded expectations.
“People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests.”
The property was last inspected in summer 2017 when it also received the coveted Outstanding rating. It was the first care home to receive this accolade in the Hull and East Yorkshire area.
