Catering equipment supplier Euro Catering has urged care providers to ‘cater with care’, providing residents with dishes that assist health and wellbeing but also provide talking points and a highlight of the day.
The Tecnoinox and Mosaico cooking equipment provider said many care homes were hampered in their dish selection by the limited equipment they had in their kitchens and urged providers to maximise their space by installing multi-functional equipment that enables the delivery of diverse menus.
Sales director Justin Town, said: “Care homes have been undergoing a revolution, in terms of their remit and the catering expectations of residents and their families. Many need to catch up with the new-build homes, or be left behind, and a line like Tecnoinox allows that to happen, providing chefs with incredible flexibility and capacities.”
Tecnoinox offer five modular lines of cooking equipment, starting at a depth of 60cm, which makes it suitable for kitchens where space is at a premium, plus a complete range of complementary products including versatile salamanders. Furthermore, a nine-oven range of ovens, covering combi, compact snack, convection and pastry ovens, offers further choice for care homes, who want to build their ideal cooking line.
Justin added: “As care continues to develop in the public gaze, we expect to see more homes coming to us for advice, solutions and inspiration. For that reason, we have developed a Culinary Centre at our head office in Daventry, where we can demonstrate equipment to care home caterers and assist their menu development through sessions spent with our development chef, Darren Massey. This incredible facility is a must-visit, if a care home caterer wishes to grasp the nettle, modernise their kitchen and become ultra-efficient and cost-conscious.”
