New Care has announced the appointment of Dominic Kay as its new chairman.

Dominic, who has been a non executive director at New Care for two years, was previously group commercial director at Barchester Healthcare.

Chris McGoff, CEO at New Care said: “Having worked closely with Dominic during the last two years, I am confident that he is absolutely the right man for the chairman role at New Care.

“His knowledge and past experience will be of a huge benefit to the company and I am looking forward to further developing our working relationship in the coming years, driving New Care forward and ensuring it becomes the leading care home operator in the UK.”

Dominic’s role will include selling and finding new care facility sites, corporate governance, operational audit, legal input and managing relationships with key customers, as well as working on projects with New Care’s parent McGoff group.

The incoming chairman was previously director of Four Seasons Healthcare for 10 years and was one of the founder members of Southern Cross Healthcare’s restructuring committee.

Dominic said: “I am really excited to be chairman of New Care.  The company has big plans in place for the remainder of this year and beyond, so it is good to be an integral part of these.  I am also glad to be based back in the north west.
