A recruitment firm in Swindon says that its specialist division serving the care home sector is now the fastest-growing part of its business because of the skills shortage facing the industry.
24-7 Staffing began targeting the care sector in 2014 with a service providing agency staff. It has since developed a training department to ensure all staff are fully compliant with industry requirements.
“With our genuine 24 hour on-call service, you can access quality healthcare workers handled by an experienced care recruitment consultant. We also provide internal training updates for all of our candidates to ensure they provide a high quality service at all times,” the company states.
In an interview with local newspaper Swindon Business News Online, the company’s staffing manager Julian Thompson said it had seen healthcare workers through 481 mandatory, refresher and specialist subject training certificates and now places staff in 40 care homes across Wiltshire and South Gloucestershire.
“In the past six months the healthcare division filled 12,544 hours’ worth of care support for clients from one office alone,” he added.
24-7 Staffing’s training leads workers towards securing their Care Certificate, which sets standards in safeguarding, health and safety, infection control, and moving and handling. The company has also provided training in epilepsy care and dementia care.
