CQC says most providers’ fees will remain unchanged next year

Consumers Feel The Pinch With Christmas Around The Corner

The CQC has said that fees for most providers will remain unchanged in 2021/22.

In an announcement yesterday the regulator said total fees collected for the sector would not change, however, individual providers may see a “small change” (up or down) to their fees from April 2021 if their size has changed.

The CQC said: “By keeping our fees scheme unchanged, providers can benefit from a known fee when setting budgets. We know this is a particularly challenging and uncertain period for providers across health and social care and we will continue to do all we can to support those delivering care at this time.”

Care providers fees depend on their type of registration and number of service users and are calculated against the total size of the sector, which changes year-on-year.
