The Care Quality Commission has created an interactive online map of care homes in England that are colour-coded to show whether they have been rated outstanding, good, requires improvement or inadequate.
“The map will make it easier for the public, providers and other partners to search for care homes by geographic location or postcode, compare ratings and read the most recent inspection reports,” the CQC says.
Care home operators will be encouraged to see that the map is dominated by a sea of green markers, which denote good ratings.
Yellow requires improvement greatly outnumber blue outstanding markers.
The dreaded red markers for inadequate homes are rare, but there is a worrying cluster in the Coventry area.
