Countrywide Healthcare confirms board member appointments

Directors 2018

Countrywide Healthcare, a supplier of products to care homes, has announced it has appointed two new board members.

The company, which has enjoyed significant growth with year-on-year sales more than doubling since 2014, has confirmed that Sarah Robinson has joined as operations director, while Richard Hannah will take on the role of finance director.

Robinson, who joins the board with experience working in both distribution and manufacturing for leading global companies, first began working for Countrywide in 2013.

Hannah worked in practice with BDO before joining Countrywide from DFS in 2015.

Alastair Kitching, managing director, said: “Both Richard and Sarah have been integral in the recent success of Countrywide and the appointment to the board not only rewards their achievements but recognises the need for senior appointments in key strategic areas as the company continues to grow.

“We have a strong and respected reputation in the care home and online sector and have ambition to keep growing the business, both organically and by acquisition. Sarah and Richard understand the long term vision we have for the business and will add considerable value in terms of expertise and knowledge during this exciting time of growth for Countrywide.”

The announcement comes after it was confirmed that the company’s turnover rose from £14.4m to £17.4m in a year of expansion for the business.

Kitching commented: “The business underwent a management buyout (MBO) in April 2014, after which we placed a greater emphasis on sales & marketing with a determination to increase our profile and shape the business for future growth. Since the MBO, sales will have jumped from £9.3m to projected sales in excess of £20m for the coming year.”
