Councillors to discuss plans for £4m care home in Blackburn

Councillors will tonight discuss plans for a £4 million, 88-bed care home in Blackburn.

Gibraltar based Father McKenzie Holdings Ltd has proposed a two- to four-storey building, including nursing facilities in an urban area near the town centre. The plans include a courtyard garden, canal fronting and parking for 18 cars.

The council’s planning officer has recommended approval of the proposals subject to condition that residents are from Blackburn or Darwen or have close ties to the area, according to The Lancashire Telegraph.
