A construction milestone at a Caring Homes development has been marked this week.
Surrey Heath Mayor John Winterton fitted the final roof tile in a ‘topping out’ ceremony at Kingsclear care home in Camberley.
Mayor Winterton said: “I am glad to see Kingsclear is a new build home as that gives the best opportunity for top notch care – which I am sure the future residents will enjoy here. There are a number of good care homes in Camberley and I am sure Kingsclear will rank among them.”
Donna Boobyer, senior commissioning manager for Caring Homes, added: “It is very exciting for everyone involved that we have reached this milestone at Kingsclear. We will now all be working hard to get the home fitted out inside and recruit staff ready to welcome our first residents later this year.”
The luxury care home, which is due to open in the summer, will provide residential, nursing and dementia care for up to 90 residents.
Communal facilities will include a bistro, hair and nail therapy room, activity room, cinema, quiet rooms, a library and a private dining room for residents and their visitors.
The home will also offer a choice of individually-designed bedroom schemes which all feature an en-suite wet room to promote independence and privacy. There will also be three ground floor suites available.
