Care UK has held a ceremony to mark a milestone in the construction of a £6.5m care home, which will create 120 new jobs.

A team from the care home provider and construction partner Pennyfarthing Homes held the ‘topping out’ ceremony for the Ferndown Manor Home at Golf Links Road in Dorset.

“When complete, the three-storey, purpose-built care home will boost the provision of quality residential care for up to 75 older people, as well as creating jobs for local people.”

The care home will provide space for hobby and leisure activities and feature suites with a dedicated lounge or dining room.

Each room will also have an en suite wet room, flat screen television and 24-hour nurse call system.

The first residents are due to arrive in January 2017.
