Award winning complex care provider, Cornerstone Healthcare, has appointed Feruna O’Donovan to manage its new service, Marula Lodge in Mytchett, Surrey.
Feruna is a registered nurse with over ten years’ experience in healthcare management within the NHS and private care homes. She brings a wealth of clinical management experience and a track record of improving care standards and engaging and managing large teams.
Cornerstone Healthcare’s CEO, Johann van Zyl, said: “We are delighted that Feruna has joined us at this exciting stage of our expansion. Marula Lodge will be opening early 2021 and with our support, Feruna will have the opportunity to build her own team and first-class complex care service.
“As part of her induction Feruna has been working at Kitnocks House since October to familiarise herself with Cornerstone procedures and policies. We are also learning from Feruna who has an inspiring management style that will strengthen our company’s senior management team.”
Cornerstone Healthcare Group Ltd currently operates two specialist nursing homes in Hampshire: South Africa Lodge and Kitnocks House, with Marula Lodge set to open early 2021. The homes care for people with challenging behaviours associated with complex neurological and mental health needs.
Feruna added: “This is a great time to be part of Cornerstone Healthcare and I’m excited to be joining Marula Lodge right from the start! I’m looking forward to learning from Cornerstone’s COO, Dara Ni Ghadhra, who is regarded as one of the complex care sector’s leading figures and pivotal in making Cornerstone so successful.
“My aim is to create a centre of excellence that provides the best possible care for our residents and their changing needs.”
