Christie & Co completes sale of closed Dorset care home


Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has completed the freehold sale of the former Ivy Lodge care home in Bournemouth, Dorset at an undisclosed price.

The former learning disability home, which ceased trading in August 2021, was sold on behalf of Acorn Lodge (Bournemouth) Ltd to real estate investment group, Grosvenor Hill – Social Impact Group.

The now vacant property comprises six en-suite bedrooms on the ground floor and one on the first floor, a large lounge and dining area, a secure safe residents’ garden, and a large garden and sizeable parking area to the front.

Speaking on behalf of Acorn Lodge (Bournemouth) Ltd, Company Secretary, Martin Druce, said: “Due to increased workload, we took the tough decision to close this home and to concentrate our efforts on supporting residents in our other care home. We are delighted to have sold the property to Grosvenor Hill Social Impact Group and we wish them all the best with their new venture.”
