Specialist business property adviser Christie & Co has completed the sale of a site for a new 66-bed care home.

The Hertfordshire site was sold to LNT Care Development on behalf of Fairview Homes.

Bernard Wynne, Director at Christie & Co who handled the sale, said: “This is our third successful transaction acting on behalf of Fairview New Homes.

“Care homes are excellent developments to sit alongside residential as they have a low impact on traffic movements and generate up to 60 new jobs. We are always keen to hear of similar opportunities.”

The site, which is located next to the Fairview residential development The Village, will be operated by Oakdale Care Group.

The home will include en suite bedrooms, a tea room, cinema, library and landscaped gardens.

LNT Care Developments received planning permission for the home, located on the site of a former Sainsbury’s depot, from East Herts Council in January (see Go-ahead for 66-bed Oakdale Care home).

Construction is due to start February 2017 with a predicted completion date in January 2018.

The home is expected to create around 50 jobs for people in the local area.
