A new build care home aims to be the first in the UK to operate without human staff.
On the day that a new National Living Wage kicks in, which trade associations believe will push half of care homes towards closure in some parts of the country, the Tactless Care Home in Chingleton will slash its wage bill to zero by replacing all staff with robots.
“This is a no brainer,” said Dr Noeffinchance, who has invested his personal fortune in the venture.
“By which I mean we will be paying for no brains at all. Robots do not need feeding, paying and, unlike most of the care staff I have worked with, they need no emotional support at the end of a busy shift,” he added.
