Castleoak, the specialist development and construction team which has fitted out a number of care homes, has donated its specialist timber frame design and manufacturing expertise to a “DIY SOS Big Build” project in Monmouth.

As part of the project Castleoak designed, manufactured and installed a new extension to the family home. Its supply chain partners H Morgan Haulage, Silvatec Design, Sequoia Joinery, Knauf, King Lifting and Wemico also donated their products and services.

“Within just 48 hours, the team built and installed pre-fabricated timber frame floor panels, walls and roof creating a two-storey extension to the family home in Monmouth” said Neil Robins, operations director timber frame at Castleoak.

“It was a hugely challenging and rewarding to be involved. The whole team across Castleoak collaborated, and our supply chain immediately agreed to donate their services too. It was humbling to see the positive impact our work had on the family” he added.

Castleoak was founded in 1984 in Abergavenny, just down the road from Monmouth, before moving its headquarters to Cardiff. It now works across the UK developing and constructing specialist care homes and retirement living schemes for leading operators.
