Carterwood sells Hereford care home site

Specialist chartered surveying team Carterwood’s has completed the sale of a Prime Developments home in Hereford.

The 70-bed, 2.68 acre site with full planning permission has been purchased by developer Albion Care Communities and will be operated by Dormy Care Communities.

Bob Smaylen, Development Director at Prime Developments, said: “Following several years of robust and reliable due diligence services from Carterwood, this was their first agency instruction. As we expected, Carterwood’s marketing process was efficient and highly targeted.”

Albion Care Communities Development Director Jim Fogden added: “We are actively looking to acquire freehold sites for development and this scheme in Hereford, just one mile from the city centre, presented us with an ideal opportunity to add to our growing portfolio. We look forward to getting construction underway.”

Matthew Drysdale, Associate Director at Carterwood, added: “The site presents an outstanding opportunity to develop a market leading care home. Hereford benefits from an affluent population, shortfall of market standard bedspaces and evidence of high average fees with both the nursing and residential care sectors. We wish Albion and Dormy every success with this new venture.”
