A group of talented carers has been selected for a new innovative workforce development scheme.

The colleagues gathered at The Home of Compassion in Thames Ditton, to mark the launch of Caring Homes Group’s Care (CHG’s) Practitioner Development Programme.

Kieren Logan-Gallen, Training Manager, said: “At CHG we are committed to developing colleagues whatever their role in progressing within the business. We have recently launched a career ladder which shows a clear pathway from carer to nurse and have provided a programme to ensure colleagues get the right knowledge and experience to be confident and competent in their roles.”

The colleagues, who have been selected from a talent pool following nominations from their managers, will be working towards their City & Guilds accredited Level 5 diploma over the next 18 months.

They will be supported by mentors within their homes, with additional guidance provided by senior management, the Learning and Organisational Development Team, the Apprenticeship Standard Provider and Qube Learning.  They will meet monthly to enhance their learning and form a peer networking group to support each other.
