Care UK welcomed local dignitaries including Lady Philippa Dannatt of Keswick, former High Sheriff of Norfolk, to the official opening of its newest care home in Cringleford this month.
Care UK invested £7.5 million in the creation of Cavell Court, which welcomed its first residents in June.
The 80-bed, three storey property in Norfolk, is divided into smaller home within-a-home areas, providing residential and nursing facilities.
Each home, designed around open plan living areas, has its own lounge, bistro-style dining room and en-suite bedrooms.
They share a reminiscence room, retro-themed lounge and a coffee shop where residents can mix with friends or family members. There is also a cinema room – complete with cinema-style seats.
The fully-accessible gardens feature a sensory garden that can be tended by residents.
Each individual bedroom at the care home has an ensuite wet room, together with a flat-screen television, adjustable profile bed, and 24-hour nurse call system.
Speaking at the official opening, home manager Anita O’Neill, said: “As with everything we do at Cavell Court, our residents and their families were at the heart of the launch celebrations and we were delighted to also have some very special guests on hand to perform the official opening of the new care home.”
