Care UK opens £8.5m care home with cinema, bar and salon

QUALITY HOME 3 – Ancasta Grove in Hampshire

Care UK has opened the doors to an £8.5m care home complete with cinema, bar and salon in Hampshire.

Ancasta Grove, in Sarisbury Green, near Fareham, was designed and built by independent construction firm, Brymor Construction.

Stephen Morton, Chairman of Hampshire-based Brymor, said: “The high quality of facilities at Ancasta Grove, including a cinema and hair and beauty salon, show just how dramatically residential and nursing homes have evolved over recent years.

“It has been a pleasure to work with Care UK on this much-needed new development, which will also bring benefits for the local economy with jobs and contracts for the supply chain.”

Brymor, one of the UK’s largest independent construction companies, began work in June 2019 on the development, the largest care home project in the company’s 34-year history.

It developed the care home from conception to completion, including demolition and site clearance of a detached building most recently used as a dentists’ surgery. Brymor also designed the home and gained planning approval.

Ancasta Grove is divided into smaller suites, each with its lounge and dining area. Its bespoke design includes dementia-friendly features such as colour schemes, signs, lighting and furnishing.
