Care Show gets underway


This year’s rebranded Care Show, now under the ownership of CloserStill Media, gets underway today.

The show promises to the best and biggest ever, attracting over 2,500 attendees looking to source new products, share best practice and extend their network.

A packed seminar and speaker agenda featuring the great and the good of the industry will provide insight into the key issues facing the sector.

On Day One Jane Ashcroft, CEO of Anchor Trust, Paul Birley, Head of Public Sector & Healthcare, Barclays, and Kieren Cole, Partner, Healthcare, Knight Frank will reflect on the past 12 months and examine how the economy, BREXIT and the general election are impacting the care sector.

Deborah Ivanova, Deputy Chief Inspector for adult social care South and London, CQC, will share the latest findings from CQC’s The State of Health and Social Care 2016/17 report.

Former Tory Health Minister Stephen Dorrell and Henry Elphick from LaingBuisson will speak on quality improvement in the care sector.

On Day Two Ed Watkinson, Director of Care Quality for QCS, will give his take on the CQC’s State of Care report.

Nadra Ahmed, Chairman of National Care Association, Andrew Kaye, Head of Policy & Campaigns, Independent Age, and Jessica Studdert, Deputy Director, NLGN, explore how the NHS, care providers and local authorities are meeting the challenge of today’s economy and overcoming uncertainty.

In another highlight, Abbeyfield Society’s Head of Development James Parkhurst provides an overview of the pioneering and innovative Winnersh home, which opened in September 2016.
