Care marketing head to scale the heights for Alzheimer’s research

Sally Rasmussen

Springfield Healthcare Head of Marketing Sally Rasmussen is taking on an epic hiking challenge to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK.

Sally is travelling to Guatemala to climb five volcanoes (known as the ‘spires of fire’) in seven days, including Tajumulco, the highest peak in Central America at 4,220 metres.

“The moment I decided I absolutely had to do something was when I read about the disparity between funding for dementia research and other high profile charities,” Sally said.

“Without research we simply cannot address the problem.  I hope that what I am doing will help directly and also if I can inspire a few other people that will be amazing.

“Anyone who knows me, knows how happy I am gliding on the ice for a hobby – climbing hills is just not my thing!!! I’ve had to take my own health very seriously in light of preparations for the trip and I just hope the training will be enough!”
