Care homes recognise their heroes as nation prepares to Clap for our Carers

Clap for care homes

As the nation once again prepares to honour the frontline heroes in health and social care tonight, care homes around the country are finding their own ways to honour their amazing workforce.

Leading care home provider Signature Senior Lifestyle has launched its own #ClapForCareHomes Facebook campaign which is receiving great support from residents, families and the public.

The campaign features a video where senior management and support staff show their support for staff.

Meanwhile, 76-year-old Gracewell of Maids Moreton resident, Julia Bruton, marked the weekly national celebration of frontline staff by organising a clap for carers event within her care home.

Julia wanted to show her appreciation for the team at Gracewell of Maids Moreton who continue to do such an amazing job of caring for the residents.

“The care staff here continue to turn up daily and help me with day to day challenges and enable me to get out of bed every day,” she said.

“I do not think the carers are appreciated or thanked as much as they deserve, and I am so very grateful to every single one of them. I would also like to congratulate the NHS for dealing so well in a crisis.”

Andrea Bullen, Home Admissions Advisor at Gracewell of Maids Moreton, said: “Julia is so lovely for organising this Clap for Carers at Gracewell of Maids Moreton. It was wonderful for our care team to be shown so much love and appreciation at this difficult time when they are working so hard.”

Clap for our Carers event takes place again tonight at 8pm.
