Spurfield House in Exminster near Exeter has been bought by a specialist care home provider in a deal brokered by Christie & Co.
The property was sold on behalf of Guinesss Care & Support following its closure earlier this year.
Simon Harvey, director in Christie & Co’s Exeter office, said: “We are delighted to be able to assist Guinness Care & Support in their strategic business review with the sale of Spurfield House, having received several offers for the site.
“We are seeing a large amount of interest in all of the homes that we are marketing in the south west on a going concern basis and with others ongoing, look forward to being able to announce more new owners for these homes in 2017.
“We wish the new owners well with their refurbishment and future plans for Spurfield House.”
The new Torquay-based owners plan to invest in the property and reopen it as a care facility in 2017.
The site was previously registered to provide accommodation for 13 people.
Christie & Co has been instructed to market the remainder of the Guinness Care & Support care home portfolio, which includes a further six homes based in Exeter, Tiverton, Paignton and Kingsteignton near Newton Abbot.
