This year’s Care Home Open Day has been scheduled for June 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Care England, the largest representative body for independent providers of social care, issued a short statement on Friday confirming the rescheduling of the event.
The body said it looked forward to working with the sector on an “even bigger and better CHOD 2021” with more details to follow in due course.
The event, which has been running for eight years, is an annual celebration where care home residents, families, friends, dignitaries and community groups, businesses and service providers come together to take part in a host of fun events and activities.
Care Home Open Day, which is run in association with Care England, NAPA and NCF, is the latest in a series of high profile care events to be postponed as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.
This year’s Care Roadshows will now run between September and December and flagship conference Health+Care has been postponed to 27-28 April 2021. The Dementia, Care & Nursing Home Expo has, meanwhile, been rescheduled to 9-10 November this year.
