Marc Pullen-James, director of care at Hafod, took home the Care Home Executive of the Year Award
Pullen-James’s journey with Hafod began in 2005 at Picton Court care home, where he initially worked afternoon shifts on the frontline while studying a course in welfare. His commitment and compassion saw him quickly progress to team leader, going on to play key roles in the opening and management of care services across Hafod, as both deputy and home manager.
Pullen-James went on to join the operational team, where he led service delivery and improvements and by 2022, he had become Hafod’s Responsible Individual (RI), playing a key role in ensuring quality, compliance, and person-centred care.
Pullen-James was praised for his commitment to caring for residents and his growth journey has been exceptional. Notably, under his leadership, Picton Court has been rated ‘Excellent’ by the Care Inspectorate Wales this year, achieving top marks in wellbeing, leadership and management.
