Care home digital visitor sign-in kiosk aims to prevent spread of coronavirus

A new digital cared home innovation has been launched to help stop the spread of the coronavirus.

The digital visitor sign-in kiosk is an updated feature of US company Accushield’s care home visitor management system.

Allen Barnes, CEO at Accushield, LLC, said: “Coronavirus or COVID-19 is a serious risk for seniors, especially for those living in a community environment.”

The product update enables care home operators the option to add a Coronavirus Question screen to the Accushield visitor sign in kiosk at the entrance to their communities.

Visitors are prompted to answer ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to a coronavirus customised question such as: ‘have you travelled internationally?’, or ‘have you been exposed to anyone with cold or flu symptoms in the past 30 days?’

Those responding ‘yes’ are directed to the service’s management before being allowed to enter the home.
