Country Court Group has given its staff and residents a clean bill of health after completing COVID-19 testing at its 32 care homes.
Managing director Alykhan Kachra (pictured) said the testing had shown “a handful of historical cases that we were previously unaware of”.
The group has one home with three residents recovering from COVID-19 and no positive cases in any of its other homes after testing all residents and staff for viral and antibody infection.
Alykhan said: “This is fantastic news and a credit to the hard work and efforts of our staff. We know this does not mean the threat of COVID-19 has ended and we will continue to remain vigilant to its’ potential dangers, in order to keep our residents safe and well.”
Country Court said all its homes remained closed to visitors but was reviewing the policy with a view to begin socially distanced garden visits if infection rates in the wider community remain low.
Each care home continues to follow rigorous infection control procedures and the group has over 8 million items of PPE in stock and guaranteed weekly deliveries to all homes for the next six months.
The group also has a 24-hour dedicated COVID-19 telephone helpline available throughout the pandemic which has offered support to both family members and staff, with over 800 calls and 2,250 emails dealt with.
