It’s not every day that you open the door to find George Clooney waiting with a bouquet of flowers.
When staff at Sunrise Senior Living’s Sonning home sent a letter inviting the Hollywood superstar to make 87-year-old fan Pat Adams’ birthday wishes come true, little did they think that ‘Gentleman George’ would actually turn up!
Linda Jones, concierge at Sunrise of Sonning, got the shock of her life when a ‘Mr Clooney’ rang the home’s door bell and asked for Pat.
Malcolm Hague, divisional support general manager at Sunrise of Sonning, said: “We are so delighted that Pat’s wish came true.
“She was absolutely thrilled to meet her great icon, and it was such a lovely surprise to see George greet her with flowers and a card.
“This was a classy gesture from a wonderful man, and it has brought smiles to everyone at Sunrise of Sonning! A huge thank you to George!”
George’s care home cameo came thanks to the home’s ‘Wish upon a Star’ programme, which aims to make residents’ wishes come true.
Mr Clooney has lived in Sonning with his UK barrister wife Amal since 2014.
