Bupa has sponsored a report by Telegraph Money, a commercial division of The Telegraph, which aims to help families plan for short and long term care for the elderly.

The Telegraph Guide to Long and Short-Term Care covers topics including different types of care, how much care homes cost, the distinction between local authority and private funding and what’s included in a financial assessment.

It also gives details on the pros and cons of investing in an insurance plan to cover care costs.

The report is free to download from the Telegraph Money website.

Bupa promotes its free support service run by care advisers who can help families make the right choices.

“If you would like advice based on your personal circumstances, or you are just not sure where to start, whether it’s queries about funding, getting help to look after someone at home, or just starting the conversation with a loved one about care, Bupa’s care advisers can take you through the different options to help you make a more informed choice,” the company says.
