Budding care home group snaps up Essex facility as first acquisition

St Peters Court

A newly established care home group has acquired its first property in a deal for an undisclosed figure.

Legacy Care, which was established in 2016 by care home industry moguls Athur and Azar Qureshi, has secured St Peter’s Court as its first property.

The sale of St Peter’s Court was overseen by national healthcare property specialist HPC.

HPC said the former owner “reluctantly” took the decision to sell St Peter’s Court care home following a strategic review. Following initial provision of consultancy services, HPC was instructed to conduct a discreet marketing process, and managed to secure the sale, above the asking price, to new providers Legacy Care Ltd.

HPC director, Ian Wilkie, commented: “We have enjoyed an excellent working relationship with this client over many years. Whilst the building no longer suited their strategic goals, it is nevertheless a purpose-built care home in the centre of the town.”

St Peter’s Court in central Maldon is positioned within the grounds of the hospital which also bears its name.

“The position, adjacent to the hospital and close to the high street, is excellent, and ensures the new operators will be able to continue to provide a valuable community facility in the future. Our client is delighted that St Peter’s will continue to provide care services to residents now and in the future.”
