The number of weekly COVID-19 related deaths in care has fallen to single figures in June.
In its latest weekly update, the ONS reported 9 COVID-19 related care home deaths in the week ending 4 June, down from 10 in the week earlier.
Deaths involving COVID-19 in care homes accounted for less than 1% (0.6%) of deaths in care homes, up marginally on 0.5% in the week earlier.
The CQC reported 29,414 deaths of residents in care homes involving COVID-19 between 10 April 2020 and 11 June 2021.
Of these, six were notified in the week up to 11 June 2021.
Care Inspectorate Wales reported 1,922 deaths of residents involving COVID-19 in care homes in Wales between 1 March 2020 and 2 June 2021.
