The number of COVID-19 related deaths in care homes in England and Wales rose for the first time in four weeks in the week ending 11 June.
In its latest weekly update, the ONS reported 12 COVID-19 related deaths in care homes in England and Wales, up from 9 in the previous week.
The proportion of deaths involving COVID-19 in care homes stood at just 0.6%, however.
The CQC said there were 29,428 deaths of residents in care homes involving COVID-19 between 10 April 2020 and 18 June 2021.
Of these, 10 were notified in the week up to 18 June 2021.
Care Inspectorate Wales reported 1,922 deaths of residents in care homes involving COVID-10 in care homes in Wales between 1 March 2020 and 2 June 2021.
