The number of COVID-19 related deaths in care homes has fallen marginally after reaching a seven-month high.
COVID-related deaths accounted for 3.6% of all deaths in care homes, down from 4% in the previous week.
CQC notifications of deaths in care homes in England fell to 66 in the week ending 29 October down from 71 in the previous week – another high since March.
There were 31,688 new COVID-19 cases in the wider community in England on 1 November against a seven-day average of 33,921.
Additionally, there were 13 COVID-19 related deaths in England on 1 November with the seven-day average at 123.
