Barchester breaks ground for Croydon care home


Barchester Healthcare has marked the start of construction of its latest care home in Purley, Croydon.

The 72-bed care home, which is being built by McGoff Construction Ltd, is set to open in spring 2022.

The construction launch was marked by Barchester’s Senior Property Development Manager, Andy Williams, Mandy Macara, Head of Marketing at Barchester, McGoff Construction Project Manager, Drew Campbell, McGoff Construction Contracts Manager, Craig Clancy, and Holden and Lee Project Manager, Michael Hilton.

Andy said: “We are thrilled to see the start of work on site here in Purley, and are excited to bring a high quality care provision to the local area.

“Our care home will offer luxury surroundings for residents, and with 25 years’ experience will bring Barchester’s high quality care and expertise in caring for residents. The luxury care home in Purley will provide residents with a home set in beautiful grounds, and will deliver personalised residential care, as well as dementia care within an interactive multi-sensory environment. Our new home will also provide employment opportunities in the local community.”

The care home will deliver personalised residential care as well as personalised dementia care in Barchester’s unique Memory Lane Community.
