Shinfield View

An award winning care home in Reading has become one of a handful of services to be rated Outstanding in all five areas.

Shinfield View Care Home, which was previously rated Good in all areas, joined the top 4% of adult social care services following an inspection in October.

General manager, Amanda Tanner, said: “I am so unbelievably proud of everyone in the team. Thank you to all our staff, residents and relatives for the exceptional feedback we received. We’ll continue with our hard work and aim to provide the very highest standard of care at all times.”

The CQC said: “People were treated with exceptional care and kindness. They and their relatives thought very highly of the staff and praised their caring, thoughtfulness and willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty for them.”

One relative of a resident at the home described its management and care as “exemplary” , with a resident commenting: “I love how safe I fee here.”

Shinfield View, which boasts strong links with the local community, holds ‘Tiny Feet’ sessions enabling residents to interact with local children.

The home recently won the ‘Business in Action’ Pride of Reading Award for its “invaluable contribution” to the Shinfield community.
