Avery staff and residents raise charitable funds over a cup of tea


Avery staff and residents gathered together for a cup of tea in the name of raising money for charity.

Avery care homes showed its support for Dementia UK through their March Tea Party event, part of the charity’s Time for a Cuppa campaign, which raised over £2,600.

Residents and staff helped the catering team with refreshments and baking cakes for a cake sale. The fun events included decorating cups and saucers, fancy dress, inviting schools in to read for World Book Day, plus cupcake games for all to join in with.

Dementia UK is a charity organisation dedicated to proving support for those facing dementia through its specialist Admiral Nurses. The Avery March Tea Party helped raise vital funds for more nurses to support families living with dementia, in their local communities and through their helpline.

Sarah Chambers of Dementia UK said: “A huge thank you to all the Avery residents and staff who took part and helped raise this incredible amount. Your help means we can provide more Admiral Nurses to families who need specialist dementia support.”
