Askham Village Community is partnering with The Care Workers’ Charity to support those impacted by COVID-19.
The family run specialist care and rehabilitation community has made a £3,000 donation to support those affected by the pandemic and in need of financial support and has also become a Supporters’ Club member of the charity.
Aliyyah-Begum Nasser, Director at Askham, said: “We’re delighted to announce our partnership with The Care Workers’ Charity. Looking after the mental health of our employees is paramount and has been a core focus at Askham throughout the pandemic – in fact, it was outlined as a strategic goal for 2020 before the crisis. We’ve witnessed first-hand the toll the virus has had on frontline workers in social care and firmly believe those who valiantly put themselves before others to protect residents shouldn’t be left by the wayside if they fall on financial hardship.
“We look forward to a fruitful relationship with The Care Workers’ Charity and have a host of events and activities in the pipeline for next year to help promote the charity, and amplify its message that every care worker should be protected to ensure they can protect others.”
A spokesperson for The Care Workers’ Charity said: “This partnership represents a collective commitment to building a stronger, more resilient sector; a sector that values and supports its employees so that they can deliver the highest levels of care. We’re thrilled to have the support of Askham Village Community to continue our mission, and to ensure no care worker has to cope alone. We look forward to collaborating with the team at Askham and are grateful that they have chosen our charity to support.”
