Alliance Care Homes rescues Clacton-on-Sea home from administration

Alliance Care Homes has acquired Clacton-on-Sea business Woodboro Residential Care Home, which called in receivers in August last year.

For Alliance, the acquisition represents a strategic move to grow outside of its core domiciliary home care business.

The Woodboro home has been operating since falling into administration, but its future was in doubt ahead of the buyout by Alliance.

Tim Dolder, from Opus Restructuring, which handled the sale, said he was glad to have secured the operation for residents and staff. “With the UK residential care sector coming under increasing financial pressure, Opus is delighted to have found a positive outcome for the residents and staff at Woodboro thanks to the confidence in the future of the home shown by Alliance Care,” he said.

“We were particularly gratified to hear from relatives of the residents how much they appreciated the sensitive approach taken, which helped to achieve this result.”
