Euan has been at Exemplar for 16 years and has been pivotal to the growth of its 26 services, spearheading its vision of fulfilling the gap in services for people with complex needs.
At present there are 22 areas in the UK where demand for services outstrips supply, and due to Euan’s commitment to working closely with commissioners and other healthcare decision-makers to identify the exact requirements of that area, it means Exemplar’s plans are fine-tuned to the needs of prospective residents.
Over the next year, three new Exemplar homes are set to open in Liverpool, Leeds and Preston, with plans for an additional three services to follow soon after. The team is working hard to ensure that every new Exemplar home maintains the highest standards of quality, safety and dignity which have been developed over the past decade and a half.
Alongside Euan’s commitment to provide services where provision is lacking, the wider culture at Exemplar has been developed across Euan’s leadership and the team works is constantly striving to make the lives of residents better day-by-day.
Creating a culture where there is a focus on the little things that make a big difference to residents, allows Exemplar to be perfectly aligned to deliver high quality care and retain staff. Under Euan’s leadership 90% of Exemplar’s homes have been rated Good or above by the Care Quality Commission, a significant percentage above the industry average of 59%.
