In a career spanning 40 years, Sue worked for her local authority before moving onto Quantum Care, where she has been since the provider’s beginning. Sue’s inspiring work on the Rhythm of Life Imitative which has been a key driver of improving quality of care provision at Quantum.
Quantum Care’s own brand of person centred care, the Rhythm of Life focuses on recognising, nurturing and celebrating an individual’s strengths so that their lives are full and enriched.
A Rhythm of Life co-ordinator coaches and mentors staff within Quantum’s homes and carries out audits of the care being delivered. Each home also has a Rhythm of Life champion who is there to ensure that the home is working to the expected company standards, as well as providing guidance and support for both staff and relatives.
In short, under Sue’s guidance, Quantum Care is committed to ensuring that Rhythm of Life runs through each and every element of life in a home, and that its residents receive a truly person centred service.
Sue is absolutely passionate about improving the lives of people living with dementia. She has been working as a Dementia Friends Champion and has just been specially recognised by the Alzheimer’s Society for her contribution to the Dementia Friends initiative.
Sue became a Dementia Friends Champion in 2013. Since that time she has delivered over 60 information sessions in her own time and has just enrolled her 1,000th Dementia Friend.
